Member Spotlight
July is getting toasty, so for this month's Member Spotlight we are featuring one of our .
"Noon Crew" hotties, Paige!
Paige has been with CFL for years and has been pushing her limits during each one of them. Her calm, cool, and collected approach to WODs is super impressive and as coach Sarah puts it
"Her double unders are legendary!"
Perhaps most importantly, Paige is setting a fantastic example for her young girls what it looks like to be a strong AND feminine woman.
"I love the fact that Paige can stroll into class, throw some heavy weights around and then leave in her put-together work clothes and heels. She's like Super Girl!" -Coach Sarah
1. What made you choose CFL to meet your fitness goals over other gyms in the area?
I have had a gym membership since before I could drive so I've always been active but I was stuck in a rut. I would go to the gym and get on the treadmill for an hour but never took the time to lift. I always felt like I needed a good hour and a half to get in a good workout. I tried the intro WOD at the Livingston Gym and loved it. I can get a really good workout in in an hour or less now and love it!
2. What is your favorite thing(s) about working out at CFL? Has your experience working out at CFL been different in any way than experiences you’ve had at prior facilities?
I love that I never know what I'm going to do when I walk through those doors. Some workouts are harder than others but I never feel like I just don't want to go to the gym. My motivation to go everyday never fades. Prior to Crossfit, it didn't take much for me to talk myself out of going to the gym, now I never miss a chance to go.
3. What motivates you to stay so consistent with your workouts?
Crossfit has been great for me not just physically, but mentally too. I can tell a big difference in my energy levels when I go consistently versus when I don't. I've also loved seeing the transformation in strength since starting Crossfit. I started in September 2014 and have doubled my weight in almost every lift we do.
4. What fitness goals do you have for yourself going forward?
One of my biggest challenges and frustrations has been pull-ups! I have not been able to get away from assisted pull-ups during workouts and can only get a couple without using bands. That being said, I know I've gotten better and stronger at them because I've got a lot more body weight than when I first started.
5.What do you like to do when you’re not working out at CFL?
When I'm not at Crossfit I love spending time with friends and family. In the summer we camp and ride our 4-wheeler as much as possible and in the winter we spend A LOT of time playing cards.
6. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
This is a hard questions for me because it requires me to be creative, which I'm not. I'm a straight numbers person.
7. What is the last good book you read?
I love to read but if I had to pick just one, it would be The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
8. Do you prefer cardio or strength training?
I like both but it depends on the type of cardio. I can't stand to sit on a stationary bike or treadmill anymore. If I'm in a gym, I prefer strength training. It keeps me from getting bored.
9.What is your beverage of choice after working out?
After a workout I drink water with lemon and usually a cup of coffee.
10.What does your perfect day look like?
A perfect day would be somewhere in the forest with my family either hiking, riding, or sitting around a campfire.
11.What is your favorite kind of music (or musical artists) to listen to when you work out?
I really like all types of music, as long as the tempo is right.
