Hooked on a Feelin'

I've been doing CrossFit for just over 2 years now. I started during my last semester of college when I finally gave in and joined a friend for a free WOD (workout of the day) Saturday at one of our local gyms. What can I say? I was hooked. All of the negativity that I had built CrossFit up to be was thrown out the window instantly. I was immediately welcomed by coaches and members alike and felt like I was finally home. At that point in my life, I was a 21 year old college senior who was drinking 4+ nights a week and still struggling with pain from a knee surgery that had happened my freshman year of college. I had self esteem issues from continually struggling with knee problems and not feeling like I could identify as the athlete I once was. Looking back, I didn't realize how unhappy I was - although I had great friends and was having an amazing last year of college, something was missing. CrossFit helped bring back a part of me that I had been desperately missing. Two years later, I'd rather be at the Box on a Friday night than at the bar - unless it was a really hard workout, then a beer with the gym family is almost a necessity:). I'm the strongest I've ever been, both mentally and physically - and most importantly, I've finally found myself again. CrossFit has been the single best decision I've made of my adult life. That first workout is always the scariest - but it's also life changing. Come join me! I'll be that chick dancing around he gym with a big smile on her face while picking up and putting down those heavy weights. Can't wait to see you!
